Two winter skin must-haves

Two products that have worked their way into my skincare routine recently are from Balance Me, an independent British brand that uses all natural ingredients. Their products not only smell amazing but also work wonders.

The Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm is a cleanser that not only removes makeup brilliantly but also hydrates and gently exfoliates the skin. It’s an oil-based balm with quite a thick texture, which I prefer for the colder months when my skin is more dry. One squirt of this goes a long way – just massage it into dry skin, then add a splash of water and continue to massage. The fine oat powder helps to exfoliate and gets rid of any grime, leaving the skin feeling super refreshed. Shea and cocoa butter break down and dissolve any makeup (even stubborn eye makeup), while the rosehip oils create a smooth, radiant finish to the skin. It comes with a muslin cloth, which I use damp to remove any excess balm and makeup.

I also love the Rose Otto Face Oil, and often use these two products together – their calming scents make it feel like a mini at-home spa treatment. For those with oily/combination skin like mine, don’t be afraid to use oil-based products! They won’t make your skin any oilier, they actually help to balance out your complexion, reduce redness and stop excess sebum. The blend of Rose Otto (an essential oil from the petals of roses), Palma Rosa (an essential oil from an Indian lemon-scented grass), and Rose Geranium essential oils makes this great for dry and sensitive skin as it deeply hydrates, nourishes and strengthens the skin. I massage a few drops of it into my face just before bed, leave it on overnight, and when I wake up my skin feels plump and rejuvenated.

These two products are must-haves for winter, when your skin needs extra protection from the cold air. They smell fresh, feel fresh, and with 100% natural ingredients, Balance Me have excelled themselves.
