Four faves from MAC

MAC has always been up there with some of my favourite makeup brands, and I’ve collected quite a few of their products over the years. I go through phases with my makeup looks, and recently I’ve been gravitating more towards brown, earthy tones for both lips and eyes.

I’ve always struggled to find a concealer that covered my dark circles properly without looking too heavy or creasing. Then I discovered MAC’s Pro Longwear Concealer, a full coverage liquid concealer that doesn’t feel cakey. I use it to cover blemishes, dark circles, and any redness before my foundation. It has a smooth matte finish, and as the name suggests, it’s very long lasting – my perfect concealer.

An eyeshadow that I’ve loved for years, and I’m now onto my second pot, is the MAC Eyeshadow in Sable. This is my perfect daytime eyeshadow, it’s a slightly purple-toned bronze colour with a subtle metallic sheen, without being overly shimmery. The pigmentation on these eyeshadows is always brilliant, so easy to blend and great pay-off. Out of all the MAC eyeshadows I own, this is definitely a staple in my makeup bag.

A lipliner I picked up a few months ago, and keep going back to, is the Lip Pencil in Stone. It’s an unusual colour for a lipliner as it’s a muted brown/ taupe with a greyish undertone. The one makeup trend I’ve really gotten into this year is the brown lip trend, and I find this liner the perfect base for any brown-toned lip products. Also, wearing it alone is a cool way to rock a lip colour that isn’t too dark, too nude, or too bright.

The MAC Lipstick in Verve has been my go-to day and night lip colour. I often wear it on top of Stone lipliner, I love how the two brown colours blend together. Verve is a bit darker and has a muted plum undertone, so I find it warms up the liner nicely. It has a satin, semi-matte finish, doesn’t dry the lips out and is very highly pigmented, what more could you ask for?
