The beauty of working for one of my all-time favourite makeup brands is the freebies. These are some cute samples we were given – firstly, let’s just appreciate how mini and adorable they are! I think NARS does everything right – the packaging is so sophisticated, cool, and modern, and the products themselves are all so good. There’s not one NARS product I don’t like.
The Velvet Lip Glides just prove how this brand thinks out of the box and doesn’t just copy everyone else. At first you’d think these would be just like a matte liquid lipstick (like literally every other makeup brand has done), but the texture and formula are completely unique. They glide on so smoothly but they aren’t heavy or matte at all. They are actually pretty moisturising and sheer with a semi-matte finish. Totally unexpected. The colour I have is Bound, a beautiful light pink that looks natural on the lips. The only downfall of these is that they aren’t very long-lasting and I find I have to reapply quite a few times throughout the day. Other than that, these are a really cool concept for a lip product!
Another revolutionary product from NARS are the Multiple sticks. The idea is that you can use it on eyes, lips, and cheeks, made for busy women in a rush. Personally, I would only use this on the cheeks, as most of the shades are in pink tones. The one featured here is Copacabana, one of the cult classics. This is more like a highlighter in a pale pink shade, so it tends to suit paler skin tones better and can look a bit ashy on darker skin. The texture is creamy and it applies fairly sheerly on the skin, creating a nice, subtle highlight.
