Nars Bord de Plage palette

When the Bord de Plage Highlighting and Bronzing palette first came out a couple months ago at the Nars counter where I work, we all almost lost our minds. It is what we’ve been waiting for – I was never that amazed by the limited range of Nars highlighters before, but this is just be-a-u-tiful.

I know this has been talked about LOADS since it launched but I couldn’t not talk about it… it is just dreamy. With four limited edition buttery powder highlighters, and two of the new matte bronzers, Nars have got it spot on.

Never mind the actual product inside, have you seen the gorgeous packaging!? Its chic worn-leather/ tortoise shell-effect pattern looks and feels so amazingly luxurious. It’s pretty light and compact too – everything you need for a summer holiday travel palette.

The two highlighter shades on the left side are more cool-toned, and would mainly suit paler skin tones; they’re perfect for highlighting the brow bone and inner corner of the eyes. The two in the middle are warmer highlighters, more suitable for darker skin tones (and all skin tones as well); they look beautiful swept across the cheekbones (and all over the face to be honest – they just give such a lovely sun-kissed glow).

The two bronzers are smaller versions of the Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzers in Laguna and Casino. Unlike the original Nars bronzers, these don’t have any shimmer, and aren’t as dark and pigmented, meaning you can apply them all over and don’t have to worry about putting on too much in one go. They’re perfect for subtle contouring and giving subtle warmth to your skin. A nice contrast to the four highlighters, which are very pigmented and create a glow with just one sweep of the brush!

If you’re feeling the end-of-summer blues (it’s September tomorrow – WHAT!), try and get your hands on one of these to lift your spirits and continue that summer glow all the way into autumn!
